President Obama Endorses Erin Maye Quade for Minnesota House District 57A

Support Underscores Crucial Nature of Local Race

WASHINGTON —Today President Barack Obama endorsed Erin Maye Quade in her candidacy for the House seat in Minnesota District 57A. Maye Quade is among a select number of state legislative candidates from around the country to receive the Presidents endorsement. District 57A encompasses portions of the cities of Apple Valley and Lakeville in Dakota County, Minnesota.

The race has attracted national attention due to Maye Quade’s experience as a community organizer where she has worked to connect constituents with their government, and her expressed commitment to working across the aisle to advance policies within the state legislature.

“We are thrilled that President Obama is endorsing our candidates in some of the most competitive races across the country,” said Jessica Post, Executive Director of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. “His endorsement highlights how crucial state legislative elections are to building on the progress the President has achieved and to continuing to move our nation forward.”
